What is Counselling? Well, Counselling is so much more than just talking and listening (as you may do with a friend).  Counselling allows you to take a step back and see things in a different way.   It can help you understand yourself better, helping you make sense of how we think and feel; as well as what you believe and how you behave.

Counselling offers you a place where you don’t have to worry about hurting or upsetting me.  You don’t have to filter what you say or pretend you don’t feel the way that you do.  It’s a chance to be honest, open and free to talk about how things really are for you, without the fear of being judged. 

People seek counselling for lots of different reasons including feelings of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, difficult life events or just loosing touch with who you are. 

You don’t have to have hit rock bottom before coming to counselling.  It can be about preventing things getting that bad!  Counselling really is the very best form of self-care that I can think of.
