Couples Intensive Therapy

An individually designed relationship experience

When a relationship is important, it deserves more than squeezing meaningful conversations into a weekly hour.

Whether you find yourselves caught in repeated arguments, struggling to reconnect after a difficult period, trying to rebuild trust after a betrayal, wanting to rediscover lost intimacy, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, The Relationship Reset offers dedicated, uninterrupted time to help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Over either a half or full day, an intensive creates the space to slow down, reflect and create meaningful change together, without having to stop just as the important conversations are beginning.

Carefully prepared and individually tailored, each intensive combines evidence based couples therapy with a calm, supportive environment where both partners can feel heard, understood and respected.

The Relationship Reset may be particularly suited to couples who:

  • Feel caught in recurring communication difficulties.
  • Find themselves having the same arguments again and again.
  • Wanting to reconnect emotionally or rediscover intimacy.
  • Are trying to rebuild trust after a difficult period or betrayal.
  • Are committed to improving their relationship.
  • Prefer a focused, immersive approach rather than weekly sessions alone.
  • Value personalised, evidence-based support.
  • Struggle to find the time to attend couples therapy on a weekly or fortnightly basis because of work, family or other commitments.
  • Are able to invest the time and attention that your relationship needs.
  • Are looking for the depth and focus of retreat-style therapy to reset, strengthen and rebuild your relationship.
  • Are able to travel to Chorley, Lancashire for either a half or full day.

If you have answered yes to any of the above, The Relationship Reset may be right for you.

Why Choose The Relationship Reset?

Many couples arrive feeling exhausted by the same conversations.

You may know what has gone wrong, but not fully understand why the same patterns continue to repeat.

Drawing on evidence-based approaches, including attachment informed practice, communication science and contemporary relationship research, we’ll work together to understand the dynamics within your relationship.  The focus is not to assign blame, but to create understanding.

During our time together, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Identify the patterns that keep you feeling stuck.
  • Improve communication without criticism or defensiveness.
  • Understand one another’s emotional and physical needs more deeply.
  • Develop practical strategies that can be used long after the intensive has ended.
  • Build a shared understanding of how to move forward together.

This is not simply a longer therapy session.

It is a carefully structured therapeutic experience designed to maximise progress while providing the time and space your relationship deserves.

Your Couples Intensive Experience

Before We Meet

Every intensive begins well before the day itself.

This preparation allows me to understand your relationship story, your strengths, your challenges and your hopes for the future, so that our time together can be used as effectively as possible.

Your preparation includes:

  • Comprehensive pre-intensive relationship questionnaires.
  • A 45 minute individual session for each partner, online or in person.
  • Careful clinical review and planning before your intensive.

This means we begin our work together with a deeper understanding of your relationship from the very first hour.

Your Half-Day or Full-Day Relationship Reset Intensive

Three or six hours of dedicated couples therapy

Held in person at my private consulting room near Chorley, Lancashire, your intensive provides uninterrupted time to explore your relationship at a pace that simply isn’t possible within traditional weekly sessions.

Throughout the intensive, we’ll gently uncover the patterns beneath recurring conflict, strengthen emotional understanding and practise new ways of communicating that feel authentic, respectful and sustainable.

Every intensive is tailored specifically to your relationship.

No two couples receive exactly the same experience.

Ongoing Support

Meaningful change continues after the intensive has finished.

To help you integrate what you’ve learned into everyday life, you’ll receive:

  • A personalised written Relationship Plan, summarising key insights, agreed priorities and practical next steps.
  • Carefully selected resources tailored specifically to your relationship.
  • A 60-minute follow-up session, approximately 4–6 weeks later, to review progress, refine strategies and continue building on the work we have begun together.

This continuity of care helps ensure that the momentum created during your intensive  translates into lasting change.

When The Relationship Reset May Not Be Right for You

The Relationship Reset is an intensive process and works best when both partners are committed to engaging with the experience.

It may not be suitable if:

  • You or your partner are not committed to the full process, including completing the questionnaires, attending the individual sessions, attending the half or full-day intensive and participating in the follow-up session.
  • You are not both working towards the same goal. For example, if one partner is certain that they want to end the relationship while the other wants to work on it, regular sessions may be more appropriate to help you work through this. For the Relationship Reset to be successful, we need to be working towards a shared goal, whether that is working together to make the relationship work or finding a compassionate way to separate.
  • Either partner is experiencing an active and ongoing addiction.
  • There is an undisclosed or ongoing affair.
  • There is a history of physical violence or abuse within the relationship.

If The Relationship Reset is not the right option for you, we can discuss what other forms of support may be more appropriate.

An Investment in Your Relationship

Relationships are one of the most important parts of our lives, yet they are often given the least uninterrupted time and attention.

The Relationship Reset creates the opportunity to pause the demands of everyday life and focus intentionally on your relationship in a calm, supportive and confidential setting.

With thoughtful preparation, dedicated therapeutic time and ongoing support, you’ll leave with greater understanding, renewed hope and practical tools to help you communicate with confidence long after the day has ended.

My Invitation to You Both

I would love to meet with you both for a complimentary introductory call via Zoom to explore whether a Relationship Reset Intensive might be right for you and your relationship.

This gives us the opportunity to see whether we are a good fit to work together. It is important that you are both able to attend this call.

An introductory call typically lasts around 30 minutes. I’ll answer any questions you may have and we can discuss possible next steps.

There will never be any pressure to make a decision during the call. This is a significant commitment, and it needs to be something that you both feel ready for and agree to.

To book a call, you can either contact me directly or use the link below to access my diary and book a time that works for you.
